Do you have a word for the year?

At the start of each calendar year, there is a such a beautiful collective energy that is leaning into expanding or shifting in some way. It can be quite powerful to ride. So, as we each reflect on the ways we’d like to enhance our life, I’d like to share some thoughts on what I’ve been reflecting on.

A great passion here, is being deliberate and thoughtful about the way we live life. Understanding that the choices we make on a daily basis impact our bodies, mind, spirit, others, the environment, and the planet at large.

And so whatever you may be contemplating expanding in your life, in some way comes down to lifestyle…because…our lifestyle IS how we live life.

So, what I would like to offer is being intentional about developing your lifestyle…your style of seeing, giving, living, and receiving.

One way that I have done this is to choose a word for the year. I learned this beautiful practice through a dear friend who does this with her daughters. I ask to be shown the word to guide the year ahead and await in anticipation until it arrives. Sometimes it’s within moments and other times may take days or more. For me it always comes quietly from the inside.

What I have learned through this process is that the word or words that come through impact my style of seeing, giving, living, receiving, ultimately my lifestyle and how I show up in the world. Whatever word comes, guides the way I lean into life.

The words that came through this year…’authentic alignment and expression’. For me, this means aligning with the wisdom inside, that soul wisdom, and letting that be what gets expressed, through words spoken, written, and actions.

And so whatever you choose to lean into this year, see how it impacts your style of seeing, giving, living, and receiving, all threading your lifestyle.
